How can background screening help you streamline hiring processes?

Background screening prospective employees is a key tool in any HR professional’s hiring toolkit – one that’s required to ensure you hire the candidate that is the best fit for your organization.
Tools work best when they’re used as they are designed and often they work best in the hands of an expert. For pre-employment screening that means partnering with an experienced organization – one with the depth of service options to meet all of your hiring needs. Trusted by Canadian businesses for over 85 years, Commissionaires delivers value to hundreds of companies and government departments across Canada. “We didn’t consider anyone else because Commissionaires offered everything we needed and was an obvious solution. We also knew that the cost was reasonable,” says Suzann Park Macleod, First Air.

Non-Core Policing – A Case Study

City of London

Challenges
In 1988, London’s municipal by-law enforcement and parking department was challenged toreduce the escalating costs associated with its operation – human resources, departmentalvehicle maintenance, training, etc. At the same time, they were asked to increase revenuefrom the city’s parking lots and meters and accommodate a growing population withoutcompromising service.

Commissionaires already had a long-standing history of providing security guards to the Cityand were well-positioned to assist the by-law enforcement detachment.

Police Checks (CPIC) versus Vulnerable Sector Searches (VSS)

Police Checks and Vulnerable Sector checks aren’t for criminals, they’re for everyday people.  Companies want to know who they’re hiring, to safeguard their business.  But police checks aren’t just for employment reasons, they’re also for citizenship and visa applicants, adoption applicants, security guard licenses and medical marijuana producer licenses. Vulnerable Sector Checks are done for those wishing to work with those who are more vulnerable than ourselves, like the elderly, the disabled and our children.
