Our
History:Commissionaires
was founded in Canada in 1925 following the First World War when there was no
social safety net for soldiers who, upon completion of their service, found
themselves without employment.
Our Mandate: To promote the cause of
Commissionaires by the creation of meaningful employment opportunities for
former members of the Canadian Forces, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and
others who wish to contribute to the security and well-being of Canadians.
Commissionaires
Today: Commissionaires,
a private not-for-profit organization, employing over 20,000 men and
women across Canada of all ages and from many walks of life, including but not
limited to, former Canadian Forces and RCMP personnel. It is important to note that
not all Commissionaires are former military or RCMP personnel. Anyone who meets our requirements and is
interested in a career in security may apply. We are continually hiring
responsible team members who wish to contribute to the security and well-being
of Canadians.
Commissionaires is currently providing outstanding security
and security related services for federal and provincial facilities, utilities,
commercial and condo buildings primarily through patrolling, access control and
security monitoring.
Commissionaires has 15
Divisions and over 50 offices across Canada.
Commissionaires Great Lakes Division serves the Greater Toronto Area and
Southern Ontario region. With a network of seven local
offices and 1,700 well trained, dedicated security professionals, we utilize
our deep rooted knowledge of the communities we serve to provide each client
with highly effective security solutions.
At Commissionaires Great Lakes, we offer best in class
training and have the highest industry standards. Our full time trainers are
not only first class educators and subject matter experts, but also bring to
the classroom real-life experience. We have a wide range of comprehensive training
programs to choose from.
